About Us

Who we are

Australia China Yangtze Delta Chinese Association Inc. is a not-for-profit community organisation based in Melbourne. We support Chinese-speaking seniors — especially those with roots in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and the wider Yangtze Delta region — to stay connected, informed, and well.

Our story

Many older members of our community moved to Melbourne later in life, often to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Language barriers, unfamiliar systems, and distance from old friends can make everyday life isolating. ACYDCA was formed by community members who wanted to change that — creating warm, familiar spaces where seniors can speak their own dialect, share a cup of tea, and find practical help.

Our mission

To reduce loneliness and strengthen belonging for Chinese-speaking seniors in Melbourne through community activities, health promotion, and practical information support.

Our vision

A community where every Chinese-speaking senior feels connected, respected, informed, and supported to live well in Australia.

Our values

Respect

We honour the dignity, experience, and culture of every senior.

Connection

We create warm spaces where people belong and friendships grow.

Care

We look out for one another, especially those who are isolated or unwell.

Practical help

We turn confusing systems into clear, useful, everyday support.

Our committee

ACYDCA is run by a volunteer committee of community members. Committee details and roles will be listed here.

TODO(org): Add committee members, roles and a short bio for each.
